Dead outlets, unreliable switches, or a GFCI that will not reset? Arrange a professional assessment and get a clear explanation of the next step.
Reliable connections for everyday use.
A device that no longer works may be affected by its connections, circuit protection, upstream devices, or the equipment plugged into it. We assess the pattern before recommending an outlet or switch replacement.
- Outlets that lose power or work intermittently.
- Loose, worn, or visibly damaged devices.
- Switches and dimmers that operate inconsistently.
- GFCI protection concerns and replacement planning.
Protection should fit the location and circuit.
Kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor areas, and other locations can have specific protection requirements. We explain the device and circuit considerations for the actual work. GFCI and AFCI protection serve different purposes; selecting a replacement involves more than matching the appearance of the cover plate.
Discuss smart switches and dimmers before purchase.
Compatibility depends on the existing wiring, the lighting load, and the product requirements. Share the model you are considering so we can discuss fit, functionality, and installation scope. A smart device may need different wiring provisions than the switch it replaces.
What your visit includes.
Show us which devices are affected and describe any pattern, such as a problem during appliance use. We review findings, explain the quoted work, and check operation after the approved repair. If the problem extends beyond the initial device, additional work is separately explained and quoted.
When to call promptly.
Stop using a device that is hot, damaged, sparking, or smells burned. Do not remove covers or keep resetting protection that trips repeatedly. Call for service; for smoke, fire, or immediate danger, move away and contact emergency services.
Can you check other devices during maintenance?
Our Electrical Care Plan covers checks of accessible devices and installed protection as described in your agreement. Device replacement and circuit repairs are separately quoted.
